See Testimonies Oh the joys of a wonderful, little bundle of fluff running around, oh what fun it can be!!! Yes but getting a new puppy is also a lot of hard work and if you haven't had a dog before it can be a very confusing and difficult time, even if you have had dogs before its amazing how we may have forgotten it wasn't all play and cuddles - the house training, biting, chewing, etc and no doubt at some point we all feel "its not a puppy its a monster in disguise". Don't feel isolated and become frustrated, help is at hand, the following are on offer - Puppy classes - specialising in socialisation, manners and foundation training in groups. A good puppy class is definitely the most important class you dog will ever attend, even if you don't intend to take the training any further puppy classes are a great foundation for the making of the adult dog. Please be careful when selecting a puppy class, make sure the groups are small, we usually have a maximum of 8 in our Puppy class, there will be no puppies over the age of 19 weeks upon initial intake. Our puppy classes are not just a free for all, where all the puppies just run amok. We do have lots of off lead play but it is supervised to eliminate any bullying and most importantly the person taking the class is experienced and can intervene should any difficulties arise. As well as the socialisation we begin the foundation training and teaching your puppy appropriate manner using the Clicker, you will find this a much quicker and more effective way to train your puppy, you'll be amazed how quick it can be (generally clicker trained puppies are more confident making them more sociable and responsive). Don't worry if you don't know how to use it its all part of the training. A big part of the puppy class is education for the owners explaining how best to deal with such things as house training, biting/mouthing, chewing, how to prevent problems and more. One to one puppy introduction training - if you would like to know how to train your puppy in a positive way but cant make the classes then a private session may be the answer, though do be aware a whole 1 hour session can be a lot for a puppy. 'Puppy right start session' - if your experiencing problems or you don't want to experience problems, its your first dog or you just want to understand your puppy better and train it the positive way right from the beginning then a puppy right start session is a must. This has been designed in particular to get you off to the right start, to prevent any problem behaviour from occurring, believe me its much easier to prevent problems from occurring that to modify them once they have become the norm -
